McDONALD’S
THE COUNTER
It’s not every day your pitch-winning idea actually gets made. But sometimes it does. And here’s one of them.
McDonald’s came to us with a problem – our burgers are the most iconic in the world but they still get a bad rep when it comes to ingredients and how they’re made. For years they’ve banging the “Made with 100% British and Irish Meat” drum but they’re still seen as inferior burgers when it comes to quality.
So I figured the best way to persuade people that a Maccies burger is made with the quality ingredients they say they are, was to simply show everyone.
Our pop up butcher shop appeared in Shoreditch – one of London’s most buzzing foodie hotspots. This take on a traditional butcher shop had everything from butcher’s blocks and branded butcher’s paper, to the freshest cuts of beef – the very same cuts McDonald’s use in their burgers. Plus, all the other ingredients that go into their burgers were there too, including salads and sauces.
With live masterclasses in butchery and burger making, fans got to see first hand exactly what goes into a Macker’s burger and how they’re made. Even getting the chance to press their own patties before tucking in to the iconic taste we all know and love.
Media and influencers were lovin’ it.
