There’s a common misconception that heart attacks are a man’s disease. But they’re definitely not – Coronary heart disease (CHD) kills more than twice as many women as breast cancer in the UK every year, and it was the single biggest killer of women worldwide in 2019.

Because women are so much less likely to believe they’re suffering from symptoms of a heart attack they are much more likely to delay medical help, which drastically reduces their chances of survival.
